Who We Are
Creativity for Rural Empowerment and Sustainable Development
CRESD was established in 2015 to respond to the economic and environmental challenges facing rural communities in Tanzania. Registered under the NGO Act, 2002 (No. ooNGO08157), we work with communities, government, and development partners to design and implement programs that create lasting change.
Our Mission
CRESD exists to create sustainable and economically empowered rural communities through innovative economic and environmental solutions.
Our Vision
Economically empowered and sustainable rural communities with improved livelihoods in Tanzania and beyond.
Our objectives
CRESD is guided by clear objectives that shape every program we design and implement. These objectives reflect our commitment to community-led, sustainable development across Tanzania:
-
1 Support farmer groups, value chain development, and financial inclusion to improve rural household incomes.
-
2 Increase women's access to productive assets, enterprise development, and decision-making opportunities.
-
3 Create pathways to employment and self-employment for rural youth through skills training and entrepreneurship support.
-
4 Promote climate-smart agriculture, natural resource conservation, and environmentally friendly technologies.
-
5 Strengthen community capacity for social accountability, public expenditure tracking, and inclusive policy advocacy.
-
6 Improve community health and nutrition through integrated programs linking agriculture, income, and wellbeing.
-
7 Foster partnerships with government, private sector, and international donors to leverage resources and scale impact.
-
8 Document, share, and apply learning to continuously improve the quality and relevance of our programs.
