CRESD convened a multi-stakeholder engagement meeting in Chalinze District, Pwani Region, as part of its integrated poultry-horticulture farming initiative funded by Terre Des Hommes Schweiz (TDHS). The meeting brought together district government officials, community leaders, parents, and young farming beneficiaries to discuss progress, challenges, and the way forward. Participants affirmed the importance of a collaborative approach to youth empowerment, recognizing that sustainable outcomes require commitment from government, families, civil society, and the youth themselves. The integrated farming model — combining poultry production with horticulture — has shown early promise in boosting household income and improving nutrition. The meeting resolved to strengthen links between youth farmer groups and local markets, increase involvement of parents and community elders, and establish a district-level monitoring committee to track the initiative's impact.
