CRESD officially launched a new youth initiative focused on commercial poultry production in Gairo and Kilosa districts, Morogoro Region. The program, supported by the Swiss Development Corporation through SwissContact, aims to improve the livelihoods of young men and women by equipping them with practical skills and business knowledge in the poultry sector.
The initiative targets youth between 18 and 35 years of age, providing training in modern poultry husbandry, feed management, disease control, and market linkages. Participants also receive support in developing business plans and accessing startup capital.
The launch was attended by district officials, community leaders, and representatives of partner organisations. Speakers highlighted the enormous potential of the poultry sector to generate income, reduce youth unemployment, and improve nutrition in rural communities.
